Michael Kelly 1965 Ebony Custom Collection — $619
The Custom Collection 65 model features a hard to find exotic ebony top. Each guitar is unique, all with a rich depth of pattern and the sonically versatile Epic Eleven electronics mod. The Epic Eleven electronics hot-rod mod delivers maximum sonic versatility. With Epic Eleven you get to break away from the typical 5 tones limitation of a traditional 5-way switch wiring. The secret sauce is the added mini-toggle, which allows you to add in the neck pickup into configurations where it would not normally be available. The second way that the Epic Eleven Mod adds sonic options is with a push-pull on the Master Volume which allows you to coil tap the bridge humbucker, switching from hum to a vintage single coil tone.
Michael Kelly 1955 Caramel Burst — $619
The 1955 might best embody Michael Kelly’s commitment to delivering guitars that are inspired not by the production cookie-cutter models, but rather by the best boutique builders in the world. The first attribute that you will recognize as uniquely boutique is the real flame maple binding. Other unique touches like the mini-humbucker neck pickup, compound radius fingerboard, highly figured quilt maple and swamp ash body further separate the 1955 from those high volume production guitars.
Sonically the Rockfield pickups are perfectly voiced for the 1955 model and each can be independently switched from humbucker to a traditional single coil tone with the GREAT 8 electronics mod. It delivers eight distinctive tonal options and all are just a simple click, push or pull away.
